Faulkner County Sheriff's Office warns of impersonation scam

The Faulkner County Sheriff's department posted a video on Facebook warning that any calls from deputy Matt Rice asking citizens to pay a fine for an active warrant are not legitimate.

"I can assure you, we do have a Matt Rice, he's our chief deputy, and I can assure you that Matt Rice is not going to call you and tell you you have a warrant for your arrest," the officer on the video said. "These are scams. These scam artists will try to find different ways to get money out of folks and it sounds believable. It's from a local number."

The officer in the video goes on to tell people to be safe this weekend during the antler-less deer hunting weekend. He also said to call 501-450-4914 if citizens need anything.
