Country music community honors Glen Campbell

ACM honors Glen Campbell

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (KTHV) -- The country music community honored the musician and Arkansas native, Glen Campbell Wednesday night at the 11th annual Academy of Country Music Honors in Nashville.

"We have just lost too many world changing, music industry changing artists lately. And that is a very deep example of someone who has unapologetically always pushed the envelope a little bit. And made these incredibly cool combinations between a very timeless sounding track and these string sections and horn sections. Everything that he always did was edgy, but it wasn't for the sake of being edgy. It was just because he was that brilliant. And he was just unapologetically him, you know," said country music singer Hunter Hayes.

He and several others, including Campbell's family, were in attendance to see Grammy-winner Maren Morris honor the late singer. He died early this month at the age of 81 and was buried in Delight, Arkansas where he grew up.
