LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The family of a young woman who was killed after a hit run accident in July is looking for the driver who may have caused her death by offering a $5,000 reward.
Lucy Enloe was driving on I-40 on July 30 when police say a driver cut her off and then drove away, causing her to total her car. While Lucy waited for help on the side of the road, another driver slammed into her, killing both of them.
"My daughter was a loving young girl. She never hated anybody. She had a giving heart, she had a forgiving heart," Enloe said.
Since then, the family has actively tried to find the person responsible for the first accident.
"My wife and I don't want any other parents to go through the pain we are going through because you wake up every morning and you go to bed every night and it's an empty cold feeling," he said.
Lucy and her father had an inseparable bond, so each day since she has been gone is tough for him and his family.
"You caused the actual event that took two lives, so it's important that you come through and you make yourself known and take the punishment," Enloe said.
The family hopes a $5,000 reward will bring that person forward.
"If I can stand in front of that person today, the first thing I would do is forgive that person for what they've done. It needs to be impressed upon them that you affected so many people," he said.
Since her death, the family has also put together things like Facebook pages and events to keep her case alive.
"We have to do what we have to do to get Justice for Lucy," Enloe said. "Nothing is going to happen to bring Lucy back, but we can't move forward with our live in a productive way until this is solved."
$2,500 was raised by Lucy’s friends through two fundraising events they put on. Joe Kleine of 103.7, The Buss, doubled the reward, bringing it to $5,000 as a surprise for the family.
The Arkansas State Police said the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
