KTHV - Arkansas residents from Heber Springs to Alexander felt the ground shake Saturday morning.
According to the United States Geological Service (USGS), around 7:00 AM, a 5.6 earthquake occurred 8.5 miles northwest of Pawnee, Oklahoma. Not only did residents there feel it, but people in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Texas did, as well. The point of origin was 4 miles beneath the surface.
According to KOTV, the CBS affiliate in Tulsa, there are reports of damage in downtown Pawnee with at least one building on fire. No reports of injuries at this time, though.
Numerous aftershocks have been recorded in the hours since.
