NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Two off-duty Pulaski County deputies responded to a fight outside of McCain Mall Saturday night. As the two made their way to the scene they were advised one of the suspects had fired a weapon.
The deputies found two teenage males inside of the Sears and took them into custody. One of the teenagers was searched and had in his possession a handgun. The suspect claimed he had found the weapon on the ground during the fight.
The two deputies, after taking the two juveniles into custody, contact the North Little Rock police to turn the incident over. NLRPD would not take the two due to Pulaski County Sheriff's Office involvement.
During the investigation they determined the other juvenile suspect could not be charged with and was released after questioning. The other juvenile was charged with possesion of a handgun.
Lisa Meyer, McCain Mall Manager said, "We are thankful that there were no injuries associated with this isolated incident. Due to the swift actions of our security team and the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department the individual involved was apprehended."
