Former ASP Lt. pleads guilty to drug charges

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A former Arkansas State Police lieutenant pleaded guilty Wednesday to drug charges.

In exchange for Sedrick Reed's plea, 4 additional charges will be dropped, but he could face jail time for pleading guilty to a conspiracy charge in the indictment. Reed is accused of stealing marijuana from the state's evidence room in 2006 then selling them to a dealer; he also admitted to stealing cocaine and heroin in 2011 and 2013.

Before his arrest, Reed supervised the room.

"Sedrick reed is the exception to the rule. There are literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of wonderful people who work at the Arkansas State Police from the colonel on down to the people who clean the building," said US Attorney Chris Thyer.
