Former officer convicted on 1 of 5 charges

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A former Little Rock police officer was convicted on one of five charges related to escorting a van that prosecutors say the officer thought was carrying marijuana.

On Wednesday, the jury found Randall Robinson guilty of lying to investigators. He was acquitted on other charges, including conspiracy to distribute marijuana and attempting to possess marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Prosecutors said Robinson's half-brother, former officer Mark Jones, helped arrange the escort of the van. The van was actually part of an undercover FBI investigation.
