LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- War Memorial Stadium hosts the Arkansas Razorbacks, high school football, the Salt Bowl, and many other events, but Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson proposed to cut its funding in half.
The stadium staff said if this is approved, it will be in a financial crisis.
The state funds $850,000 to War Memorial Stadium, but in Hutchinson's bi-annual budget, he recommended to reduce it to $400,000. This would be for the 2018 to 2019 fiscal year.
The stadium is already working on a lean staff with only six full time employees.
