LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Part of the marathon's economic boost comes from the health and fitness expo that goes on at the same time.
More than 70 vendors and exhibitors were there. They were selling the latest gear and services for runners and other fitness buffs.
It's also a crossroads for runners from across the country as they get ready for Little Rock's challenging course.
“I think I like this one better because, I shouldn't say that because I'm from Tulsa, but people here cheer you on. They read your name off of your nametag and cheer you on. I ran a 3:38 here last year and I'm hoping to beat that,” said Tammy Jenkins from Oklahoma.
The expo closed up at 6 Saturday afternoon. The attention then turned to getting ready for Sunday.
The Statehouse Convention Center is headquarters for the marathon and its 2,000 volunteers.
