Honest Tea tests Little Rock's honesty once again

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock becomes the latest city to be tested in a national social experiment, trying to determine just how honest we are when no one is looking.

The beverage company, Honest Tea, placed unmanned kiosks filled with bottled drinks and snacks throughout the River Market this weekend. Next to the kiosk was a box asking people to pay $1 per item; they spent the next 8 hours observing

"Our product Honest Tea is very transparent and honest with our consumers about what we put in the products being fair trade certified and organic, and we wanted to see if the rest of the nation felt the same way," said Matt Pluim, a marketing manager for the company.

Information on who buys and steals the tea is being collected across all 50 states. The national results will be released on August 19.
