Library opens virtual branch to Little Rock students

It's a virtual library students can utilize for everything from checking out books to downloading music.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - For students, the library is now just a click away. 

The Central Arkansas Library System( CALS) has partnered with the Little Rock School District to provide students with access to CALS's virtual branch. 

The program, Tech Card, gives students access to all of CALS's digital resources from school or at home. This includes: 

  • Newspaper databases
  • Foreign language courses
  • ACT, SAT, and Arkansas driver's test prep
  • Audio & eBooks 
  • Learning tools such as Lynda.com 
  • Movies appropriate for students of all ages. 

Students and educators took to Twitter using the hasthag #ItsAllHere to express their love for the new program. 

 

The program is being tested within six schools. After testing concludes it will be offered to Arkansas schools at large.
