Little Rock police investigating 3rd homicide in same location since March

One dead in Little Rock apartment homicide

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock police are currently investigating a homicide near the Spring Valley Apartments. This is the third homicide to happen in the area since March.

The Little Rock Police Department said the homicide happened near the 8700 block of I-30 near Spring Valley Apartments.

Officers were originally called to the scene on an apparent suicide call, but once on scene police began investigating it as a homicide.

Police found 64-year-old Billy Thornton dead inside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds on his body.

In March, two other people were shot at the same location. 20-year-old Lewis Wallace died at the scene while 19-year-old Stevie Howard later died at a hospital due to his injuries.

LRPD does not believe the July 11 shooting is connected to the double homicide in March. No arrests have been made in those cases.

This is the 31st homicide of the year for the city of Little Rock.

We will continue to update the story with more information as it becomes available.
