LRPD investigating after woman found shot behind Arch St. home

 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Little Rock police are investigating after a woman was found shot behind a home on Monday morning.

Police responded to the 2500 block of South Arch Street around 8 a.m. where they found 52-year-old Tamela Jones. She was pronounced dead at the scene. They say that the homicide appears to have occurred overnight.

One witness said they heard arguing and gunfire around midnight. The witness said they didn't see anything and was not able to provide any further information.

According to Lt. McClanahan with LRPD, the woman who called police about the shooting on Monday morning has not been located.

No suspect information has been released at this time. This is the city’s 22nd homicide of 2017.

Then on Monday afternoon, the Little Rock Fire Department responded to a small fire at the house that Jones was found behind. The fire was contained to the porch before being put out. As this time, the fire department is unsure if the fire was intentionally set.
