Clinton Center holds back to school bash

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - School starts Monday for almost everybody in Arkansas, and the Clinton Presidential Center is hosting the "Head of the Class" bash on Saturday to celebrate.

About 1,000 kids got free backpacks filled with supplies. Plus, they handed out coupons for haircuts and the state health department helped with free immunizations.

"We really consider ourselves educational partners here in this community. We want our schools and our teachers and our parents to consider the Clinton Center an extension of the classroom," said Rebecca Tennille, spokesperson for the Clinton Foundation.

Today's party also served as a birthday celebration for former President Bill Clinton.

The Clinton Library had birthday cupcakes on hand and 100 visitors got to take home a famous Hope Watermelon.
