Legal pot petitions get approval for 2016

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Thwarted in this year's election, supporters hoping to decriminalize marijuana cleared a hurdle toward the 2016 election on Tuesday.

Secretary of State Mark Martin approved the petition that supporters hope to eventually use to gather signatures.

The drive failed to gather enough signatures to get on this year's ballot, as did a medical marijuana proposal.

A pot initiative narrowly lost in the 2012 election.
