LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Pulaski County Jail announced they are back open and accepting inmates after closing last month.
The jail was filled to capacity, prompting it to close it's doors for the second time June 30. The funded capacity for the jail is 1,210 and at the end of June they had 1,281.
Now, July 24, the jail population is 1,146.
The closing affects nonviolent, low-level offenders.
The first time the jail closed was April due to overcrowding. It reopened June 9 to be closed again June 30.
