Update: Man in custody for brother's murder at 17th and Battery

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Suspect Tristan Lewis was taken into custody on Thursday evening.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. Lewis turned himself in to LRPD detectives. Based on witness statements and his own interview statements, detectives charged Lewis with Murder in the First Degree.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a shooting that had just occurred at 17th and Battery.

Lt. Sidney Allen with LRPD said they found 26-year-old Freddie Hinton Jr. shot multiple times. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

During their investigation, LRPD developed Hinton's brother, 21-year-old Tristan Duane Lewis, as the suspect. He is wanted for first degree murder.

Allen said Lewis should be considered armed and dangerous.
