Local football team forfeits first round playoff game after bus crash

Helena-West Helena forfeited their first round match up with Arkadelphia because of a bus crash.

A Nov. 10 bus crash has prevented Helena-West Helena from playing in the first round of this year's playoffs. Three buses carrying the team, band members and cheerleaders wrecked on I-30 on the way to their match up with Arkadelphia.

Some students sustained injuries, leading the team to forfeit the game on Nov. 11, according to the Arkansas Activities Association. Arkadelphia will play Batesville Southside on Nov. 17 as a result.
