Police release name of Little Rock homicide victim

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Police have released the name of a man who was killed in a shooting on Monday evening.

Little Rock Police officers responded to the shooting at the 7100 block Colonel Glenn Road around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located Tyler Andrew Terrell, 32, of Little Rock suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a garage bay. He was pronounced dead shortly after.  

Homicide detectives were able to determine that there was an argument between the victim and 34-year-old Layton Hawkins who is the business owner. Terrell and Hawkins began to argue and at some point, Hawkins shot Terrell with a pistol. Hawkins surrendered to the officers when they arrived on the scene.

Detectives took statements from witnesses giving varying accounts about the circumstances surrounding the incident. Based on this information, detectives will be sending this case to the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for a file review. Pending further investigation, Hawkins was released without charges at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
