LRPD honors outgoing Chief Thomas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock's top cop is a few days away from retirement.

Police Chief Stuart Thomas was honored on Monday at a ceremony as he prepares to walk away after 36 years with the department.

He's been in the top spot since 2005 but he started his career as a patrolman.

With stints as a detective as well as an administrator, Thomas had plenty to reflect on today.

Twice during his time as a homicide detective, Thomas received accommodations as Officer of the Month for the department.
