One arrested in 24th Street homicide

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Little Rock police are investigating a homicide at the 600 block of West 24th Street.

According to police, kids came across the body of 54-year-old Allen Sims on West 24th Street. Adults then called police.

Police said Sims was killed by blunt force trauma to the head. Sims was homeless.

Dupree Omar Charmonte Boatner, a 21-year-old, was arrested Sunday morning and charged with first degree murder.

This is the city's 40th homicide this year.
