LRPD mourns Black Knight, a 24-year-old River Market patrol horse

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The Little Rock Police Department is mourning an esteemed partner and patrol horse.

The 24-year-old horse named Black Knight passed away from colic. The disease results in intense pain in the abdomen caused by intestinal gas or a possible obstruction in the intestines.

Black Knight had been with the department since 2003, serving in the River Market area and was well-known during Riverfest.

Black Knight, or BK as the horse was affectionately known, resided in the Little Rock Mounted Patrol barn.
