Victim identified in Hot Springs gas station homicide

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Hot Springs Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man dead.

On Monday around 8:48 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at the Valero gas station at 1201 Central Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found 29-year-old Derek Antonie Duvall of Hot Springs lying in the parking lot of the gas station with a gunshot wound to his chest.  

CPR was administered to Duvall until LifeNet arrived. Once on scene, LifeNet personnel took over CPR, but were unsuccessful in resuscitating him.

Police say that after being shot, Duvall ran a short distance and collapsed near the south side of the Valero. No suspect information is available at this time.

Detectives have interviewed multiple people and are following up on investigative leads.  Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Hot Springs Police Department at 501-321-6789.
