Many concerned over LRAFB lockdown, others confident

LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. (KTHV) - People were stuck in their cars for hours Wednesday, whether trying to get in the base or trying to get out; vehicles stretched for a quarter-mile outside of the base.

Many of those waiting were retired military coming on base for simple errands such as having a tire changed or to taking care of a bill. Others were reporting to work on base. All of them, as well as civilians, were curious as to what the threat was on the inside.

"It's always concerning when there's other members involved, so yeah, we're definitely concerned but hope nothing bad is going on," said one person waiting for the gates to open.

"Makes me anxious because what's going on over in Ukraine, so this is what kind worries you," added another.

"If there is something actually going on, the people there know what to expect, know what to do. You've got people trained on this who are constantly going through training for this, so no if there is anything happening, they're in good hands," chimed in another.

Whatever the threat was, those who have been waiting are now finally able to go back on base or leave it.
