Marion Co. man arrested for 2012 attempted murder

MARION COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) – Authorities in Marion County say they have a man in custody for a 2012 attempted murder.

Sheriff Roger Vickers said the Marion County Sheriff's Office has arrested Cody Dean Wallace May 13. Cody Wallace turned himself into the Sheriff's office shortly after 5 p.m.

Wallace is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree a class A felony, and residential burglary, a class B felony. Wallace will make his first court appearance in Marion County Circuit Court on May 14 for his arraignment.

The arrest is a result of an investigation by the Arkansas State Police from an incident that happened on October 14, 2012. The Marion County Sheriff responded to a residence in Yellville where a subject had been cut with a knife. When officers arrived they found where the victim had been asleep in a camper trailer and someone had entered the camper and had cut his throat. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Bond for Cody Wallace was set at $250,000 and he is currently being held in the Marion County Jail.
