LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Rain Friday made the flooding situation in Brinkley even worse.
PK Norman, with the Monroe County Office of Emergency Management, said 2.8 inches of rain fell, so the flood level is back to where they began when the flooding first came a week ago. While he told THV11 News that the water is going down slowly, leaders are stumped as to why the water rose in the first place as this kind of occurrence is apparently uncommon.
Norman added that the city is asking for help from the US Army Corp of Engineers to find a solution and ease the flooding.
A flash flooding warning was issued for the town after heavy rain during the afternoon.
