Law enforcement bring back Rx Take Back Day

PULASKI CO., Ark. (KTHV) - The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office is reported that they've collected 847.7 pounds of prescription medication across the three locations they manned in Little Rock.

Saturday's National Take Back Day produced the third highest amount since PCSO began collecting in 2010. In April of 2016, they collected a total of 945.8 pounds of prescription drugs.

In total, the sheriff's office has collected over 7,000 pounds since the inception of the initiative as well as through their 24-hour Rx drop box.

The deputies will destroy the drugs in a safe and environmentally safe way. This ensures the water supply is not harmed by active drugs in each prescription.
