New Maumelle Chick-Fil-A sends meals to Harvey victims

New Chick-fil-A, volunteers sending meals to Harvey victims

MAUMELLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- How far would you go to get free Chick-fil-A for a year?

Over a hundred of the popular restaurant's fans are camping out at its new location in Maumelle, with hopes of winning just that. But there's a good reason behind the madness.

Those 100 or so people camping out for the opportunity lent a hand to Chick-fil-A workers, boxing ten thousand meals for Hurricane Harvey victims in Houston. The new store owner said these type of contributions don't stop with this event.

"Schools will be at the top of that list, we want to be able to support all the great schools here in the Maumelle area. Local schools are at the top of our list,” said owner Carter Tucker.

The meals will be shipped out Wednesday. This new Chick-fil-A location opens Thursday.
