New recycling center to open in Texarkana

TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Texarkana's new recycling center is set to open next week.

The Texarkana Gazette reports the facility will open on Aug. 11. It will accept materials including paper, cardboard and metal. All items must be separated.

The city's recycling director says the center will make recycling more accessible for its residents.

The city was awarded state grant funding to construct the facility. It's unclear how large the grant was or how much the building cost.

The center will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
