NLR police investigating Friday evening homicide

NLR police rule fatal stabbing as self defense

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating a homicide.

Just before 7 p.m. Friday, North Little Rock police responded to the 3900 block of Susan Circle in reference to a stabbing.

When they got there, officers found 53-year-old Mark Crotts lying in the driveway of the residence with a stab wound to his body. Crotts was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Officers were told that an unknown woman left the scene in a dark colored Ford pickup. Officers found the vehicle at the on ramp of I-40 and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was taken to the NLR Police Department for questioning.

The woman will not have any charges. Police said that this was ruled as a case of self defense.

This investigation is still ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
