Habitat for Humanity Rocks the Block in Little Rock

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Habitat for Humanity is joining with several other local businesses and volunteers to work on 16 houses over about four blocks in the North Little Rock area.

Saturday, hundreds of volunteers painted and got a lot of grunt work out of the way on the renovations along 13th and Pike Streets.

"We're building a back porch for someone whose porch burned down. We're doing a handrail, got some siding. Some people lost some shingles, and we're putting some shingles up," listed Andrea Newton, revitalization coordinator. "And, we're able to do all that for free because we got the volunteers and most of the supplies donated and a couple of grants."

Along with all of the volunteers' hard work, Saint James United Methodist Church held a carnival.
