Outdoors in Arkansas: Head to Adventureworks in Hot Springs for zip lining

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) -- Who said you have to go on a vacation to get a bird’s eye view of a beautiful part of the world?

Right here in Arkansas you can fly through trees and over streams at several zip line parks across the state.

THV11 checked out Adventureworks at Catherine’s Landing in Hot Springs that has 12 zip lines that cover 300 acres in the land near Lake Catherine. It opened three years ago and now provides tours to about 100 people a day.

“The further we get you back in the deep woods, the longer, taller the zip line is,” said Jacob Freeman, Adventure Works Zip Line Tours general manager. “Every day we’re just rocking and rolling.”

The park is open year round, every day of the week and attracts tourists and locals.

“Hot Springs has definitely needed something like this to revitalize the city, revitalize the life here,” said Freeman.

“Zip Eight is my favorite. Imagine you’re a fish going down water, you zip down the creek and it’s about 600 feet.”
