Parade kicks off St. Patrick's Day weekend

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - It is Saint Patrick's Day weekend, and both sides of the Arkansas River jumped into spirit early Saturday.

The 15th annual Rock-to-North Little Rock Saint Patrick's Day Parade wound through the streets of both cities, and the Irish Cultural Society of Arkansas and the North Little Rock Visitors Bureau put the party on. Plenty of green was on display and plenty of people were eager to celebrate the occasion.

"I actually thought it was pretty awesome, especially the lil' Irish Dancers," said one member of the celebration. "Just the spirit of being Irish. I'm half Irish, so just a fun way to come out and celebrate

Organizers said they had about 90 entries in the parade. The 1-mile route starts in downtown Little Rock before heading over the Main Street Bridge and wrapping up in the Argenta Arts District in North Little Rock.
