Pine Bluff Arsenal to swear in new commander

WHITE HALL, Ark. (AP) - A ceremony is planned at the Pine Bluff Arsenal as the Army installation plans to swear in its 37th commander.

The arsenal says the current commander, Col. Chadwick T. Bauld, will relinquish command Thursday to Col. Kelso C. Horne III.

Horne comes to Pine Bluff from the 8th Army in South Korea, where he served as director of operational protection.

Bauld's next assignment will be at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. He took over at Pine Bluff in July 2014.

The arsenal previously stored and manufactured chemical weapons, and in 2005, began the disposal of weapons. Over five years, the facility safely destroyed 123,100 munitions containing about 7 million pounds of chemical agent.
