Skeletal remains found in Pine Bluff identified as missing man

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) – Skeletal remains found in a wooded area in Pine Bluff have been identified as a man who was reported missing in April.

On September 27, the remains were found in a field on the 2200 block of West 30th Avenue. On Wednesday, the Arkansas State Crime Lab notified the Pine Bluff Police Department that the remains were identified as 39-year-old William Hopson.

Hopson had last been seen around the area of 28th and Camden Road on March 15.

The identification was made by clothing, articles found with the remains and by comparing surgical implants against the medical records of Mr. Hopson.

There were no signs of trauma on the remains and the cause of death has been listed by the crime lab as undetermined.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detective Division at 870-730-2090 or dispatch at 870-541-5300.
