Police investigating after Kensett man found dead in street

KENSETT, Ark. (KTHV) – The White County Sheriff’s office is investigating after a man was found dead on a Kensett street.

Around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to the 500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and found a deceased man lying in the street with obvious wounds. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Donovan L. Branch of Kensett.

White County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division detectives responded and began an investigation and began processing the scene for evidence which is being considered a homicide.

At this time, a person of interest has been located and detectives are currently speaking with the person; however the person has not been arrested in connection to the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the White County Sheriff’s Office at (501) 279-6279.  The body will be sent to the Arkansas Medical Examiner’s office for a complete autopsy to determine the cause of death.
