Man charged with murder after body found in Pope County

POPE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Pope County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide.

Saturday, deputies found human remains near the tree line of a wooded area behind a house. The remains are being sent to the state crime lab for identification.

Daniel Joseph Hoffman, a 29-year-old was named as a person of interest. He was interviewed by police and then charged with first degree murder. He will have a bond hearing on Monday.
