PopUp in the Rock returns with mock bus rapid transit. art installation

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - From Thursday, October 27 until Saturday, October 29, PopUp in the Rock is returning to Little Rock. The pop-up event will take place at Rock Region Metro's River Cities Travel Center in downtown Little Rock.

The goal of the event is to highlight different city blocks and show a potential prototype for how the block may be upgraded or improved. This year, the group behind the pop-up will show how transit-oriented development may improve the transit system in Little Rock.

"The area around the bus station has seen significant development since it was built 16 years ago and we thought it was an ideal, conveniently located area to show how our downtown streetscapes and infrastructure can continue to evolve and meet the changing needs of our residents and visitors," said Adam Osweiler, project manager at McClelland Consulting Engineers, Inc.

This is the 5th PopUp event, which has inspired bike lanes along South Main Street and the opening of more restaurants in the Park Hill area of North Little Rock. Below is a list of events happening October 27-29.
