Proposal to revitalize University Ave. getting renewed attention

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A proposal to help revitalize part of University Avenue near the University of Arkansas - Little Rock is getting renewed attention.

The vision is to create a University Village at UALR. That's according to a report published last year by the university.

In the report, the existing design of University Avenue is described as creating inappropriate behaviors by motorists and pedestrians. They are proposing the placement of multiple roundabouts.

Changes to the street itself are a big part of the proposal, but in addition, officials envision better business property and health advantages to the area.
