Shoe donations at marathon will help purify water

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – In an attempt to battle cholera in Haiti and raise money for water purification, the Ozark Water Project is asking for others to donate their shoes.

With all of the old shoes runners will discard after the Little Rock Marathon and planning for other big running events, the Ozark Water Project will be trying to gather show donations, so they can repackage and sell them for pennies on the dollar to raise money for their cause.

Carla Allen with the project stopped by THV11 Studios to talk about their cause. To get more information, check out the video attached to this story.
