Senator Cotton wants legal immigration system to attract "best, most talented" people

Senator Tom Cotton speaks on immigration during Q and A session

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Senator Tom Cotton was in the capitol city for another q-and-a type discussion Wednesday.

Clinton School Dean, Skip Rutherford, talked with Senator Cotton about President Trump's first 100 days in office. One of the many things discussed was immigration.

Senator Cotton said we need a legal immigration system that attracts the best and most talented people.

"It's like having an NFL draft and you have to get all the first round picks. Because people like if you have you know a brilliant scientist and a brilliant computer scientist and they have a chance to leave a country where they don't have economic opportunities they don't have the gifts of liberty and prosperity that we do they will look around the world where they want to go and they will come to the United States,” said Senator Cotton.

The senator also gave his "grading" scale on how he believes the President is doing in certain areas.
