SWAT, U.S. Marshals called to scene after shots fired in North Little Rock

After several hours, standoff in North Little Rock ends

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The North Little Rock Police Department are investigating an incident where shots were fired near the 800 block of North Cypress Street.

According to police, a task force with the U.S. Marshals was trying to serve an out-of-state arrest warrant for rape when a gunshot was heard inside the apartment.

A SWAT team was called to assist North Little Rock police as they attempted to communicate with the suspect inside.

 

 

 

According to police, there were two people inside the duplex when shots were fired, but the second person exited the apartment safely.

Around 4:36 p.m., members of the SWAT team deployed gas into the duplex and plan to send in a robot to make contact with the suspect.

The standoff ended after police said the man inside the house killed himself.
