Skeletal remains found in Sherwood identified as missing man

SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) – Sherwood police are waiting on the state crime lab to determine a cause of death for a man found dead last month.

The skeletal remains discovered on February 22 in a wooded area have been identified as 52-year-old Tony Underwood.

Underwood was reported missing by his family in May of 2016.

Investigators were tracking his cell phone in an attempt to locate him until May 16 at 11:30 a.m., when the telephone service provider lost the device’s signal.  At the time the signal ceased, the telephone was located in Faulkner County, North of Highway 64.
