LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Plenty of Hogs fans made the trip to Auburn to witness it all. The fans that made the trip had a lot to be excited about in what they saw on the field – the Razorbacks looked like an improved football team. But, as it turns out, these fans had a lot to be excited about before the game even kicked off.
"We have a bunch of good guys that come out and go to all the Razorback games," explained Craig May. He is one of guys behind Tusk To Tail, a fan group and blog that goes to every Razorback game both home and away. "I bring my son and when I was a kid and when my brother was a kid he brought us to games, and it's just kind of a thing that's developed over the years, so we have a lot of fun coming out here with our family and friends and enjoying college football."
"We first started out going to one a year and started adding a few more each year, last year was the first time I went to all 12. This year I'll see 10 or 11," added David Rice, another member of the team. He has the same tickets his grandfather bought when Razorback Stadium was built and says it takes a special kind of dedication to get to that many games. "The dedication it takes is the apologies that you have to give to your family when you run off and join the circus every weekend while they stay home and get kids to soccer practice and all that."
They all agree that if you have to make some hard decisions on which games to skip, Auburn is not one of those games.
"Auburn here is one of them. The people are really nice, the stadium's great, the eagle flying in is really amazing," described Jeff Laman, another eager Razorbacks fan.
"This is my favorite road trip of all them, the people are very nice, the eagle flying over is something to see, we've always had a great time down here," added Rice. "There's nothing like it, the games are on TV every Saturday and with HDTV and better camera angles, there are some people that really enjoy staying home, but you know what? The hair on my arms never raised when I'm watching a game on TV."
