Martin Tracey, a population geneticist at Florida International University, testified Tuesday in the murder trial of 30-year-old Gary William Dunn. Prosecutors argue that DNA found on a condom wrapper links Dunn to the crime scene.
Tracey testified that the chance the DNA was merely a "bad-luck match" and not genetic material from Dunn was about 120 million to 1.
But Dunn's attorneys argue that Tracey's methodology is outdated.
Dunn lived in the same Russellville apartment complex as Dirksmeyer. If convicted of capital murder, he faces the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
