Paramedics took him to St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs and is expected to recover.

Ensminger was shot in the right shoulder but was able to drive back to the gates of the Diamondhead Community and get help.

Meanwhile, deputies have arrested Jerry Chamliss. He has not yet been charged.  

The shooting happened in the 300 block of Coolwood Drive. Police arrested Chamliss at a home believed to be his own. No details are available yet on why the incident occurred.

The Diamondhead Resort Community is located about 15 miles from Hot Springs. The Diamondhead Police Department has nine full-time officers. Ensminger has worked with them for about a year.
