Prosecutors played recordings of conversations between Dr. Randeep Mann and his wife, Sangeeta "Sue" Mann, that were made shortly after Dr. Mann's arrest in March 2009. Dr. Mann seems despondent in many of the phone calls, at one point saying, "You play with fire, you get burned" and "your obsessions kill you."
Prosecutors are using the tapes to persuade jurors that the Manns conspired to obstruct a police investigation. Dr. Mann faces federal weapons charges along with charges for the February 2009 bombing at the home of Dr. Trent Pierce, the chairman of the state medical board.
