The U.S. attorney's office says 22-year-old Hamis Alshareqi was indicted on suspicion of tampering with a witness. Federal prosecutors allege Alshareqi struck a person with a metal object with the intent of preventing that person from testifying in the trial of Dr. Randeep Mann.
Prosecutors didn't identify the victim, but several inmates testified about conversations they had with Mann while he was being held in the Pulaski County jail. A jury convicted Mann on Monday for the bombing at the home of Dr. Trent Pierce.
Alshareqi is an illegal immigrant from Yemen.
