JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- Jacksonville police are trying to get some leads in a cold case that occurred almost 3 years ago, when an 18-year-old mother was shot at a local gym.
Danick Adams and her friend were leaving Ultimate Fitness gym when they were approached by a man armed with a handgun, demanding vehicle keys, cell phone, and other valuables.
After obtaining the demanded items, the suspect began shooting, striking Adams. Her friend was able to flee the scene unharmed. The suspect had taken Danick's vehicle that was later located by a Jacksonville Police Officer; he tried to stop the stolen vehicle, and the vehicle came to a rolling stop and the driver fled on foot. A black female passenger remained in the vehicle; she was held for questioning and later released.
The suspect is an unidentified black male approximately 37 years of age, around 5'6" to 5'8", weighing about 160-180 pounds. After interviewing several individuals, no suspects were identified and the case is currently open.
The family and friends of Adams are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons responsible for her murder. If you have any information, call the Jacksonville Police Department.
