HAGERVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities in western Arkansas say the killing of a 71-year-old woman in her Johnson County home does not appear to be a random attack and that the community is not in danger.
No arrests have been made in the death of Julie Richardson, who was found dead in her Hagarville home Monday afternoon by neighbors who had gone to the house to check on her because they couldn't reach her on the telephone.
Sheriff Jimmy Dorney says Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Johnson County coroner's office.
Authorities say it's possible Richardson may have known her killer, but they aren't yet releasing details of her death.
Richardson's body will be sent to the state Crime Lab for an autopsy.
